1.19.10 Where to begin? The first 19 days of this year have been rather promising, and it seems Ulichny Music LLC has gained momentum and I can hardly keep up. Certainly not complaining here! Busy is good, and there are few things to mention:
Thanks to Ajay over at Taj Mahal restaurant for having me set up and jam every Friday from 8:00 to 10:00. The vibe is excellent, the food delicious, service is stellar, and it's a great way to relax after the long week. Come on by this Friday and say hello! May 16th! The date is set! The CD is currently underway and coming together a piece at a time, and I will have One Evening officially released in less than 4 months. This has been a long time in the making, and that fact that it's around the corner is both overwhelming and exhausting. I mean exciting. Please check back soon, as the pre-order forms are just about ready. And most importantly, a sincere thanks goes out to all of you who have come out and supported the last few shows. It is truly appreciated, and I hope you've had some fun! Next update coming veddy veddy soon... 12.20.09 Mmmmm....I can smell vacation. Delicious :) Big show coming up with Heidi Howes on New Year's at the Columbus First Night party, and scheduled to kick off a new school year with The Well Dressed Downs (these guys are excellent) on January 8th at Vic's. Wow, many thanks due here... First of all, thanks to Kelly at Franklin University for the invitation to perform at the World Fest. Great event, and great vibe.
Also many thanks to Thao Thai for shooting such amazing photographs at the event- you'll notice a few are posted already (more coming!) Please feel free to contact Thao if you need ANY photography done, as she is professional, great to work with, and produces incredible photos. And one more thanks to Ali Salerno and all of the people who worked so hard to make this year's Writer's Harvest a huge success. I was grateful to be a part of the line up, and we managed to raise well over $600 dollars for the food bank- and had a great time doing it! Not bad for any evening of music and spirits... Looking forward to some shows coming up, and will be booking heavily for next spring once the CD is finished, so check back soon! 11.11.09 Quick update to anounce a last minute performance that just came up. I'll be participating in the first annual Franklin University World Fest, celebrating cultural diversity with craft, information, music, and food. I'll be playing a short set of mainly Indian percussion, and weaving that with a western contemporary blend of guitar. Should be a blast, and I'm glad to be a part of this year's line up.
10.14.09 Great things happening! I've been steadily working on the album, writing and recording, and perhaps, just maybe, someday, I may release this CD :) I've been invited to play at this year's Writer's Harvest which will be held in the basement at Barley's on N. High St. Really looking forward to supporting a great cause (Mid Ohio Food Bank) and listening to some awesome performers. In other news, I've posted the new tune "Solace" on YouTube, and even though the quality leaves something to be desired, it's my first vid posted. 9.03.09 Thanks to all of you who came out to the Vic's show the other night, had a blast! Was great to hear Pilot Cloud rock out from PA, and of course Jonathan sounded great as always. Have a few new things up my sleeve, including a percussion workshop and seminar in October, as well as a few potential gigs coming up... Keep checking back as I'll be posting more info soon. Back again, with a few new things to note. I'm excited to be playing percussion for a fantastic artist from Pittsburgh this Friday at Victorian's Midnight Cafe. Joy Ike has a great vibe, and amazing indie/soulful music... Don't miss this show! Starts at 8:00, and there's a $5.00 cover (with two other great performers on the bill) I'm also expanding on my private instruction, working to book more shows, writing/recording and gearing up for the new album release, and promoting music education in our school systems... ahhhh! (Deep breaths) Come back by the site soon, as I'm in the process of updating info and revamping the whole layout. CHEERS 6.09.09 Hello all, I've been RIDICULOUSLY busy teaching, writing, and tweaking my set up as I've incorporated some new elements that should really improve the live performance. Also working on a video application for the live shows which will add a whole new element... I'm excited to start performing again after this few-month hiatus!
